Oak trees are pleasing, yes.
I'd be interested in seeing fruit trees planted that also afford good yields of food, and are hardy in the Austin area. The pecan trees supply pecans...that is nice.
As a newcomer to Austin, I can't claim any expertise in what fruit trees might work here.
